Provid\u00eancia was Brazil&#8217;s first favela. This film is one of several <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/Rx30zL\">recent interventions on the hill<\/a> aimed to call attention to the <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/Q9iE4b\">historic importance<\/a> of Provid\u00eancia, given Rio de Janeiro&#8217;s newly received status as a <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/MTKkbR\">World Heritage<\/a> Site. The film calls attention to <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/OpEdProvidencia\">current eviction threats faced by the community<\/a>.
