Straight from the <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/43yU9FS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nova Am\u00e9rica<\/a> neighborhood in the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2XIp04O\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nova Igua\u00e7u<\/a>, in Greater Rio de Janeiro&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3TU1RpD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baixada Fluminense<\/a> region, two young survivors find their sword and shield in art, reflecting on the spoken word and the body as territory by a State that reads their bodies as foreign, ready to <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/35sIBcn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">be expelled<\/a> at any moment, as has happened with their peers.<\/p>\n<p>The above poetry slam on film, <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/CulpaDosSobreviventes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Survivors&#8217; Guilt<\/em><\/a>, speaks of the sense of responsibility that comes with being a turning point within one&#8217;s community, of <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3FIYmL6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opening paths<\/a>\u00a0and resisting in the midst of <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3lTVzHp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">constant slaughters<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2ycUjKl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scrapping of bodies<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2XlalOG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dreams<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3nZiFi4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">freedom<\/a>. At the margins of society, <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3nmmRKB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art is an outstretched hand<\/a>, a mother&#8217;s lap <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3pIrsZ1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">that caresses<\/a> and provides a channel for all the hate inside\u2014often unconscious and leading so many down a self-destructive path. True subversion lies in reclaiming self-esteem and a <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3anygh3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sense of community<\/a>, since here chaos and doom are sourced in public policy. Carrying the pain of survival, recharging the dream on behalf of those who are gone.
