His family and friends have lived the history of the Carioca periphery: his grandparents founded the community, his uncle started the now outlawed \u201cpagofunk\u201d dance parties and many others have suffered in the never-ending battle amongst residents, organized crime and the police. Valnei\u2019s\u2014aka Mc Succo\u2014prefers to communicate through graffiti and funk music and, among other projects, is working to launch a course in funk music production.
