Eighty-nine architecture firms from around the world entered the IAB contest for Morar Carioca Phase II projects. They were tasked to design interventions on generic favelas in flat areas, hilly areas, and larger “complexos.” Many of the 40 winning designs, such as this one, recommended opening public and pedestrian space in the community.
