From the neighborhood of Penha, Igor, also known as “o Bola,” is a 22-year-old electrician, DJ, photojournalist and audiovisual student at Darcy Ribeiro Film School, as well as teacher to disadvantaged youth. He has worked with organizations such as Viva Favela and the Observatório de Favelas and, at the moment, is finishing a film short, “Linhas Cruzadas,” and working on his second album with hip hop group “Us Negin Q Não C Kala.” Igor participates in the RioOnWatch community journalism course, and his articles appear on RioOnWatch.org thanks to the work of volunteer translators.
